Did the 10 speed transmission in this swap have the start/stop auxiliary fluid pump and if so did that cause any issues?
What’s the weight difference between the 2?
I am currently installing a 2016’ LT1 with an 8spd auto in a 78’ Camaro. Super excited
Wow and I thought the ls3 was great.. this LT4 is next level.. absolutely wicked.. i just want one.
You should take down the video for 6l80 2wd to 4wd conversion. I just tried it yesterday and the splines are different. Huge waste of time
The video is for their conversions that use an atlas case. If you tried to use a gm transfer case, it could be different splines
Just tried this yesterday, it doesn’t work, the splines are different. Dont waste your time!
❤
Can you build one for me to go into a 2011' Suburban 1500 4x4.. I'm in Texas..
‘ Excellent channel. ‘ Curious to learn if your team has ever executed a GM L8T 6.6L ( non-turbo ) engine refit. It seems that such an engine paired w / a 10-speed would be perfect for overlander rigs equipped w / 37s & upsized axles. Thanks, for your consideration.
Manual transmission is the way to go manual transmission
I rather loose one gear in a manual box and still get home than loose and the entire automatic box due to an electrical issue.
So, you're able to adjust the pressure and shift timing by changing the value of the gear ratio in HP Tuners without actually changing the gears? I wonder if that works in a GM vehicle or presumably the speedo would be way off.
If I had only known of MoTech a year ago before buying a new Jeep. Just take my money. I am sold on your amazing conversions and well thought out work. 3 years after this video came out and wondering if you have moved forward with a module for newer Jeeps yet or ever plan to?
I'm kind of interested in your LS s 8-speed transmission. Is it possible for me to get a number so we can talk? Be great, thank you!
Very helpful thank you. Been having problems with wobble and so far have replaced everything (some things twice) and just pressed on teraflex ball joints as a last ditch effort. If it doesn’t help I’m worried if using the tape measure to adjust my track bar wasn’t precise enough. But in the end it seemed like there were only two options at 180 degrees putting it about 1/8”off in one direction or 1/4” off the other direction
Cool 😎
Question. With the late model 8L90 you mention needing the T87a TCM. What ECM are you runnning? Will the T87a TCM program to an earlier model ECM (GM Sierra 2016 for instance)?
How' is the Chevy 6.6 L8t vs Ls3 for off road use?
I beg you to tell me what trail this is 🙏 Liked and subscribed
I have a 6.6 and 6l90e in the garage ready to go into my 72 K5 once I am no longer laid off!! I cannot wait!
@16:05 you point to the "Mass Air Flow Sensor" but that is not the sensor, that is the intake air temperature sensor. The actual MAF sensor is a small wire inside the body at the top of the tube. This is important because someone might watch your video and use a MAF cleaner on the temp sensor and not clean the actual MAF and thus not resolve their problem.
Great video! @9:50 is the best explanation of bump steer I've ever heard.
I love the LT1 engine. I have a camaro SS with that same engine but I must admit the 6.4L hemi has more torque.
I couldn't imagine driving my Camaro without a manual transmission ...manual transmission is incredible. It's the only way to drive a muscle car in my opinion
Do you need to install a Displacement on Demand Delete Kit for the LT engine?
What bumper is that
I like your videos. you need to work on sound
ive been struggling figuring mine out. these diagrams helped me undertand where i was going wrong . thank you.. 9:30-10:15 helped me too
I drive a LT1 in my SS Camaro with a manual transmission but tell me. Are you saying that the LT1 is better than the LS seven?
I love the gen 5 lt1 small block engine but I drive a manual transmission camaro with a tremic tr6060 transmission.. What I love most about the engine is the Down low Grunt This engine has a lot of Torque I don't know what it feels like in an automatic but when I drop gears and punch it in my Camaro it really throws me back into the seat Very impressive engine.
I wish I could hear the sound
I am the very proud owner of this exact JK with the 5.3 and 8 speed. I have over $45K of documented invoices that came with this when I purchased it from Unique Classic Cars in MN. last month. :)
Where can I purchase your L83 5.3L installation kit for my 2014 Jeep JK?
Is there kit to purchase. I live in Saudi.
Would you be able to LS swap a two door JK with a manual transmission?
Hey! Great video. I have the same dry sump LT4 and I have a question about the manifold insulation you point out at 3:30. The person I bought the engine from thought it was packing foam when they received it and started to remove it. The top area of the foam is still there and the foam inside the engine area is there, but the exterior foam is all gone. I spent over an hour trying to find the part, but I can’t. Can you help me find it? You’re super knowledgeable and probably know an easy way to find it. Thanks!!!
Have you got that Hurricane swap figured out yet lol
Great content. Thanks!
Just bought a 2010 GMC 2500 hd 6.0 L96 with 178,000 miles. Its the smoothest power I've ever felt. Still gets 18 hwy. 13 to 14 city or towing my boat. It was a corporate lease truck. One iwner with extensive maintenance records. GMC single cab 8 foot bed lether interior with crank windows 😂. Truck looks new and for a 13 yearnold truck i feel i stole it at 11 grand
I just realized tgat this will not really work for a 6l90e 2wd because it has a 36 spline output shaft.😢
The best Explanation ever !!! Thank you !
What can us manual JKU owners do as far as swaps? Can it be auto conversion with LT engine?
Yes, we perform manual to auto conversions frequently. The PRNDL on the dash is functional, and the shifter and console are factory Jeep. It looks as if it came auto from the factory.
Do these guys drive similar to the fun factor the stock 392 JL has? Been wanting one after having driven one for a couple days but the price is a huge turn off, and do these numbers translate similarly for swaps in the JT or JL (if you’re doing them?) last I saw you were talking about swapping in the JTs . Anyway love the vids always very informative and still entertaining
Great info. A little trick when running a tap and you don't want to make a mess with shaving, put some grease on the tap and it catches a lot of it.
The video I’m looking for .. my year & budget lookin like 💯🙏🏾🔥
Dude, I love your work, but I've yet to see what I'm looking for. And I guess the name of the channel should answer my question, but I will still ask... Have you ever done an LS swap for an XJ? I bought a 2 door XJ for dirt cheap and I want to know if there is anything I should be aware of before I make an LS swap. Specipjically, I wanna put an L96 engine and 6L90 transmission into it and make it 4x4. If not, put there a 5.3 LS engine and a 6L80 and still make it 4x4. So, have you done it? Do you know any problems it might generate? Would you advice for it or against it? Thanks a lot
Best engine ever produced! And best transmission. I have that exact L96 and 6L90 combo in a 2019 express van 3500. And hear me something... I told my friend and mechanic I wanted to modify the engine with a camshaft, ported heads and headers as soon as we had to open the damn thing. He laughet at me and said "I guess we all have a dream we will never see come true". And then he explained me how the engine could last over 300k miles and how I could see it go for up to 500k miles with the maintenance I give to the vehicle (service every 5k miles, any little noise I take it to the shop, I only get the best parts, I only use liqui molly sinthetic oil, I always change something that "can last for a bit longer"). And I guess he is right. My engine has 32k miles right now in 2023. It might go for 10 to 25 years untouched and by then, my taste for hp might not be as big as it is now
so weird to have a fake snorkel! Is that common?
What seal PN is this?
After watching a lot of your videos I wish I had the money to have you do a swap for me. Very. Very informative.
